2017–2019 · Wound down · Founder & CCO
Creivo
My first company. Events for big brands, then a software product that died when the APIs did.
01 · Situation
Trying entrepreneurship.
After seven years in events I wanted my own company. Creivo began as an events agency, working for brands like Carrefour and Estrella Galicia with project teams of 3 to 60 people and full responsibility for budget, product and delivery. I did less well in events than I expected, so I moved into software.
02 · The move
Omniverse.
Through TheHop, the accelerator Estrella Galicia built, I learned startups and investment from the inside while helping design its agile working methods. I had an idea, built it and raised money for it: Omniverse, a mobile app to stream to all of a user's social accounts at once. It reached MVP with a letter of intent for €600k in committed staff resources.
03 · Hardest moment
The platforms cut the APIs.
The third-party APIs the product depended on were shut off. We looked at a pivot and it didn't hold up. I told the investor exactly where we were, returned what was left of the capital, and closed the company.
04 · Numbers
What it reached.

05 · What I'd do differently
Never build on someone else's API without a plan B.
Platform risk is existential for a product like that. Today I validate the dependency and the fallback before the first line of code, and I ask every founder in the portfolio the same question.
